But I am trying to think of what colour I could make it. Dirk I also think sunburst is the best, but it might be a bit difficult to get that original sunburst colour.. Otherwise, a nice pastel colour always looks lekke on a strat. light blue or beige?

MikeM Sorry I should've remembered ? If it were maple I'd say black, but I still vote a burst ? I personally think you should try keep it looking classic - ROCKSTAR kinda, but that's me. If it were straight out whichever I think looks nicest, natural is winner.
needleshy who remembers silverburst gibsons? such a lovely colour and if you look at the originals the silver goes yellowy which looks even sweeter. i'm trying to save some cash to get one at the moment.
Heath what about finding paint that changes color with the temp , you could have lots of different colors but might freak out the bass player and drummer

needleshy white looks real fresh with lime green and black but i don't know about mint. i have renovated a few bathrooms with the white and green colour scheme and it looks real nice (not to say that a guitar is like a bathroom) but the colours don't clash and it gives it a fresh feel so maybe it'll do the same for the guitar.

Heath i know this doesn't help , once you have most of you parts , look at the guitar in it bare bones shape and let it tell you what color it wants to be , i know it sounds very arty farty and karma sutra like , but let your new baby speak to you . now that i have finished my 60's haze i will return to reality
