Good point Bob, but then again, they make a truckload of money due to the fact that we use their free service, so if you think about it, is it still really free?
To the likes of me? Yes. I use it. I don't pay.
What I'm trying to say is that I don't think it's fair that they apply the "It's free, so don't moan if it's broken" approach on something like Facebook. It's not like they are a non profit organisation that built the system purely because they really really really wanted us all to be more connected to each other etc. They want money, and they are getting that money because we use their system, upping their stats = making them more money.
If you pay for software, you expect it to work and you expect proper support if something goes wrong. In this case we are not paying directly, but they are still receiving money due to the fact that we use their software, so we are indirectly giving them money.
I am struggling to put my thoughts on this into words but hopefully you catch my drift.
