I meet a lot of people in my work that are performers but don't have that small boost needed to get them out.
I just chatted to a guy who cleans the yard here (its a biiig dirty yard) dressed in smelly overalls and he saw my guitar in the office and we spoke a little in our best broken English. He is part of a group, a traditional type zulu band.
He showed me a picture of his band and it got me thinking, how many people are out there who could do with a small injection, be it gear, or strings or just a bag for their guitar.
Do we know of anyone like this? If so why don't we start a section where we can post what people need. For example if we have old gear we might be undecided if we want to chuck out, it could help someone who has no means of getting it. And at the same time we could help the next Jonathan Butler or Busi Mhlongo

Good idea. There was someone on 702 the other day that was doing something similar. He requests that people donate their voyager miles to up and coming musicians to attend a music summed in Texas.
There are so many great guitarists and musicians out there, it's just a shame such a small percentage gets noticed. (Specially in SA)
