1965 Fender Stratocaster LPB

Vintage-Guitar

She is a 1965 Fender Stratocaster in Lake placid Blue.
100% original with hang tags and 1965 Price List.
Clean Custom Colour Strats don't come around that often and I thought I should share.
Rock on.

Too right, Francis - I'm seething!

In Live in Pompeii, Dave's playing that old black Strat, but it frequently reflects the clear sky and sorta looks a deep, midnight blue colour, which I've thought for ages would be the most perfect colour for a Strat. And this is pretty damn close. I've salivated over Lake Placid Blue in catalogues for yonks.

Thanks for ruining my day, pal.

She sounds like a new old strat..ha ha
The beat Vintage Strats always seem to sound better.
This 59 sounds fantastic. Maybe its the 50's Black bottom pickups and worn in neck.

Was this made in 1965, or made more recently to 1965 specs?

Personally I was never that fond of LPB, but if the axe is good I can forgive a colour I don't like. I like that foul salmon pink colour that fiesta red sometimes fades to.

Very cool guitar.

How the hell do you find these???!!! ?

She was built and sprayed in the Fender Factory in 1965.

Fiesta Red was a popular Custom Colour in SA in the 60's due to the Hank Marvin connection.
A few clean original examples are still in SA. 8) and a stack of carefully aged refinished pieces.

I often wonder how many hours do you have to play a guitar to get relic like that?

2009 - 1959 = 50 ?

I wonder if its a combination of smoky pubs, sweaty hands and not really caring much for the instrument.

but I wouldnt pay for a new guitar with the worn look faked.

Word. A friend of mine also bought a pair of "worn" Converse All Stars. Sometimes a slap is in order.
