So has anyone ever ordered off EBAY?
I know most people wont ship to SA...but there is alot of gear i want that i cant get locally and ebay has some awsome deals.
Im very scepticl of online buying hence the question :?

I have a few times. Never had a problem. But I would never touch guitars on Ebay... Firstly there is alot of fraud involved. and secondly. Unless you getting a fairly pricey guitar that could make it worth while $3000 + ... The shipping can be quite ridiculous these days.

I have family in Canada so i ship to them and they DHL it down. although I have only bought small stuff like DVD's etc

Just check the sellers review first, if there's just one unhappy costumer, don't buy from him. You can also try contact some of the people that baught from him.
I baught my Yamaha CJ12 from a guy in the UK. He also didn't want to ship oversea, but I still place my bet, then searched for courier companies that can deliver to SA from the UK. I got a quote and emailed him with a proposal. I would pay him the money for the guitar, make all the arrangements myself (pay the courier exct)...the only problem here usually is the willingness for the seller to give you a pick up adress.
At the end I won the bet, then just paid with paypal and 5 days after I made the payment I was holding my new baby. But I must say, giving somebody 5 big ones and have no garuntee that you'll actually recieve your purchase caused some insomnia for those five days!
