We all know that if you want to be able to shred well, it's going to take many months or a few years of a almost non-existent social life and other sacrifices that most females... & males are not willing to give up. Like last new years I turned down some parties so that I could sit in my room and play scales 8) I remember I could hear the contdown outside and I was in a zone trying to do some kind of harmonic minor exercise ?. Unfortunately we also have a very doubtful attitude when learning something. It saddens me every time someone (guy and girl) says I'll never be able to do that, it's too hard, I'm too old etc. In the words of Barrack Obama "Yes We Can!" The human body is a miraculous thing and I believe everyone has the ability to SURPASS Vai, Gilbert or Batio.
I'd like to meet more women who have total passion for whatever they do and who are willing to put in the time to master it. To all those ladies I salute you, you make my world more interesting
lets not forget one thing is that rock and especially shred is a typically testosterone driven music....
and pretty aggressive...
.where i think if you had to look at classical musicians you will find a list of female guitarists who are technically superior to many "rock players"
but they have no desire to step on an overdrive pedal and play loud.....
i know i hate loud bands....
so yeah just cos it's not metal/rock /shred don't think there's a lack in tecnicaly proffecient women musicians .... as i said in an earlier post guitar and especially electric guitar .....is a very "male " instrument most women would sooner take to violin/cello/piano before guitar .....
and yes always exceptions to the rule.... but if you think women can't be technical musicians go see how advanced most classical musicians are..... once they reach professional level....
