Please help my fellow AXE swingers!

I have a Randall RG200G3e [Not the plus]......everything was cool until about 4days ago when I switched it on.....lo a behold, a HUMMMM....It has a 3 point plug, does the same in a different room, guitar plugged in or out, all volume and effect down, my CUBE60 makes no noise and is right next to the Randall. I've only had it for about 3 Weeks, havn't even played on it alot. :'(

Any advice?

I would email Randall directly. I didn't receive a footswitch with my amp and mailed them. They were really helpfull too.

Probably a valve. Always worth having spares around to swap out to troubleshoot. If it's still under guarantee, the place you bought it from should be your first call.

I ask cos I've experienced hum on 2 amps and it turned out to be that switch. flick it over and see what happens.

if it doesnt help then it may be a bigger issue.

I was playing on a Fender Bassman100 and was told they had the hum for over a year and were too lazy to service the amp. The bass was going into a DI, then slpit to the desk and the amp. What was causing the hum was the ground switch on the DI box as it was allowing the 48v phantom power to get to the amp.

that thing can cause headaches

Thanx DonovanB, I checked the ground switch, made no diffirence......but I contacted the supplier and took the amp in, they are more than willing to help. Just hope they do >☹

Just one thing.. I've seen it mentioned on other forums, and it's wrong.. DON'T LIFT THE GROUND ON YOUR 3prong socket!!!! I've seen and heard horror stories when this was done.. I once almost got electricuted by touching the guitar and mic at the same time (no one told me that they lifted the ground from the plug >☹ )

if your desk 48v phantom power is on for no reason it does that too. but not hectic-trhow-you-across-the-room stuff.

Hulle het toe die ander amp met geen probleme vervang, die amp is 'n MONSTER! Ek gaan vir my binnekort pedals moet kry, en dalk 'n kamer wat so 11.5 keer groter is. ? [But 'n shall leave those little technicalities for a later day with with a fatter pocket]
