Anyone heard of this film? found out about it today.

Anyway it is a documentary about guitar playing, i love the first scene where jack white setup a slide guitar in a few seconds with a pick, few nails, glass bottle.

IMO, by the same logic, we'd also have to question the inclusion of The Edge.

Only watched the trailer now. This looks awesome! Can't wait for the DVD release. Anyone know if this was released to theaters locally?

I saw the trailer at the movies a few weeks ago, it looks interesting. I'm rather surprised at this - I can understand a DVD documentary but a full length movie on the circuit? I can just imagine the debates, arguments and compromises the guitarists will get into to get the better half to go see this movie rather than some tear jerker drama thing with Nicolas Cage or someone...

Anyways I'm thrilled and can't wait to see it!

It was the NuMetro in Worcester - now can you believe it, it's the only movie house in town and I had to Google it to check which one it was... :-[

Weird. I've just searched both the Nu Metro and Ster Kinekor sites...and neither have any info on this film. (There is, however, a film about Fokofpolisiekar coming up, it seems.) Sony Classics has picked up the distribution rights for our territory...but I can't find any confirmation of dates apart from, "mid-2009."

Yeah, that's what happened when I tried searching as well. So I asked the GFSA forumites and was rewarded with an answer - thanks Riaan.

If Riaan saw a preview for it in an SA cinema then one can only conclude that it will be released in SA (I'm really holding thumbs).
