I think I have finally worked out how to get onto the forum - it must be senility setting in.

I've recently taken a renewed interest in guitar playing since two old buddies from the 1960's called me to reform our band from way back when. I pulled out my old Gibson 330 restrung it with Ernie Ball hybrid slinkies, bought myslef a Cort nylon accoustic and a Roland Cube 60. We're having an absolute ball at our weekly jam sessions ans have even played a few gigs. The fingers are beginning to react to my brain again!

This forum is fanatastic and I look forward to interacting with you guys. I may even enter the competitions since I have set up a little multimedia studio here in Durbs producing corporate videos - so I have a great recording facility.
Hey hey Pete, good to see more Durbanites getting into the fray.

do you go to the Blues Train at all?
Hey Pete....welcome to the forum.....from the 60s?? wow, tell us more about who you played with, should be quite interesting! ?
Welcome to the forum. Please post some pics of that Gibson. I'd like to drool over it a bit. ?
Hey Pete welcome! Yes, show us some pics and tell us about the band. Would like to know more about your studio also!
Welcome Pete, hope you enjoy the forum ?
              Hi Pete,

              Welcome to the forum!

blowing some new breath into the band! That = rock & roll!

              Best of luck!
Hey guys - thanx for the warm welcomes - so many questions, where do I start?

Firstly. Our new (old) group, Cloud 9, has played a set at the Blues Train in Boktown on the Bluff and we'll be playing again at the new venue in a couple of weeks.

You asked for it - so here it comes!!!
Our group in the late 60s was 'Judge 4 Sound' and we played at The Tiles, The Scene 70, Cosmo Club, The Sands, Riveira Hotel - all the main live venues of the time. On the same bill were groups like, Freedoms Children, The Etonians and Third Eye. Got married, went overseas and our group broke up.

In the early 70s taught guitar at Jack Dowel School Of Music, played guitar in pit orchestras for shows (Mainly 'cause I could read the dots), wrote jingles, played bass for Simon Kerdachie's group and did a few gigs with Dickie Loader. Joined an ad agency and went to Joburg. Longed for music again, so left the ad industry and became a session muso for a year playing guitar and doing backing vocals for jingles and albums for artists like Min Shaw and Charles Jacobie (God help me). Worked with musical directors like Dave Pollecutte, Bill Fairly and Hennie Bekker.

Had to feed the family so became a sound engineer at Videosound Studios for about 5 years and then again joined the ad industry. Music took a back seat, other than playing for family and friends and doing a bit of classical studies with Dave Hewitt. Came back to Durbs in the early 90s and got the call from mates about a year ago.

Okay, you can wake up now, here comes the Coda!

I'l try and take some pics of my Gibson but still have to work out how to post them on the site - can't make any promises!
Man, how I would love a resume like yours... You sir, have earned your stripes. Welcome.

Thats fantastic. I am playing there on the 28th July with Swell Band. If you are around let me know I'll buy you a beer (or whatever you drink ? )

I think we are going to learn a lot from you, I know I sure can.
                      Hey Pete......Welcome to the forum.... ? ?
