Hey hey everyone! Nice to see the forum is running smoothly! Been busy lately so been scarce!
Okay, here's my problemo/concern...
My bass goes out of tune quite quickly... and when I hit the low notes {by the headstock}, every now and then it vibrates quite irritatingly... Im using Elixar strings {cost me R400 a pop} so the strings are not the problemo... Is there any product I can buy that can keep the machine heads/tuning bobs in tune for WAY longer? ???

you can get new Machine heads...
what bass have you got?

Hmm, that seems like a good Idea. I have a trusty old Cort Action Bass...

Hi LBG - it has been a while. Are your tuning machines sealed (with a cover over the gears) or open? If they are the open type try tighten the big screw that hods down the gear - that may tighten up the workings enough to make them last a bit longer.
If they are the sealed type, look for the small screw that holds the tuning key on the shaft and try tighten it a little - that pulls the worm gear harder against the gear and helps tighten up the action.
Otherwise, if that doesn't work, there's no real substitute for replacing them with some quality tuning machines.
