what mixer before usb/firewire interface?

hey all

would just like to find out which mixer any of you would recommend in the 'pre-amp'/distribution role, receiving all of your mics and then going control/main out to your usb recording interface.

Have a look at this:

You can also bring back your USB audio out for low latency monitoring as well.

"Using an external analogue mixer for computer recording means zero-latency monitoring. That is that you can listen to your track being recorded simultaneously with the playback from the computer, without the inherent signal delay of the computer soundcard and host processor."

hey dude

behringer mixers aren't bad at all , or look at the yamaha range , also some good entry level mixers ......

DonovanB

this is interesting. How many of these would allow for 8 simultaneaous recording tracks?

I would think to get a audio interface and use a mixer for live monitoring purposes instead.

Heath

on the behringer side the xenyx 1002 - 1202/fx would allow up to 10 / 12 tracks at a time , on the yamaha side the MG series . mg/10 - mg/12

Check with Wild & Marr Cape Town. they might still have stock.

There is also the Allan & Heath ZED series with built in Firewire / USB interfaces.
