Forum down this morning?

NorioDS · 2009-07-07T10:50:35+00:00

Is it just me and my terrible internet connection or was the forum down between 10h15 this morning and 11h00? I restarted the services just in case but I don't know if it was actually down or if iBurps was just giving me hassles. Let me know please, and also include your internet connection if you don't mind. Thanks!

Heath

Norio i hear you , i been working behind a computer since i could remember ...... and in all honesty i just don't care anymore , i couldn't be bothered trying to keepup , i would rather be playing guitar all day long , then do computer work , but the further i try and run the more it pulls me in

NorioDS

Tailon, you hit the nail on the head. "I couldn't be bothered trying to keep up"

Being in IT is a full-time learning career. You can't stop learning and you can't stop practising or you'll forget stuff and it becomes harder to do something you SHOULD know how to do after it's been 6 months since you did it the last time.

And there are a million and 1 things to know. I can't speak of windows but, with Linux, each of these topics is HIGHLY specialised, yet incredibly ubiquitous so you NEED to know something of each.

- Squid
- Samba
- Apache
- MySQL
- QoS

And we've barely scratched the surface. It's amazing but, really, I'll stick to coding PHP goodies, playing guitar and taking care of my new hobby, my guppy fish ?

And forum down again today! This time from 11 or 12 till 3pm-ish.

Still working on finding a long-term fix for this ;(

Is the site very slow for anyone else right now? Other sites I have open in other tabs is fine, just this one taking ages to load pages ☹

NorioDS

I've disabled the offending web site and EVERYTHING seems fine again. Very pleased ?

The one thing that is frustrating me lately is when I load or refresh a page in the forum I seem to be waiting for either "adgator.co.za" or "maxit.co.za".....usually a very long wait......

I often have to refresh my page on my browser (Firefox) anything up to 6 times before the page loads.

Is anyone else experiencing this......

Bob-Dubery

Things are VERY slow tonight. About 22:50, and have been for 20 minutes at least.

Watching the status bar in Firefox I get plenty of messages

Transferring data from www.guitarforum.co.za
Waiting for ads.adgator.co.za

Frustrating.
