My old axe...Regal resophonic

Here are some pics of the old Regal resonator guitar I mentioned yesterday. It has a few dings and some faults, but all in all I think it's not too bad for an 80 year old guitar that had once been someone's workhorse guitar. It still sounds good too.

I've never had a resonator guitar, but if I saw that priced at R400, I would definitely grab it. When did you buy it?

Thanks Alan - I bought it in 1999 or 2000. At the time I knew nothing about vintage guitars, I simply bought it because it caught my eye and I liked it. Also, the story about the old guy who bought it in London in 1928 and playing in a band all those years ago impressed me, so I decided on the spot that this guitar should belong to an enthusiast once again, before it ends up as a piece of decor in a bar or something...
I play it every now and then - I like to think of it as a kind of tribute to some long forgotten and probably long dead fellow guitar nut... though the style and musical influences are probably vastly different!
