Tonally she's not quite doing it for me. Don't get me wrong the guitar plays and sounds sweet, but to my ears she's just a bit too thin / bright for me, where I'm looking for pure Strat tone with a bit more warmth.
So, to recap: you don't have a problem playing it, it's just the tone?

not change the neck - that's the heart and soul of a guitar and if you're happy with the feel and playability, rather do what Mike suggested and start looking at pickups. If you like the guitar other than the tone, to sell and get another guitar is kind of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Texas Specials get a lot of hype but I find them a little harsh and midrangey. I find that by the time I've adjusted the amp to get rid of the harshness, they come out muffled. Does that sound something like what you are getting? Maybe you need to try out a set of Fat '50s or equivalent.
