Heading away for a weekend with some friends to Clarens. Want to jam some fun sing-a-long songs on the acoustic.
Hit me up with a bunch of songs please ?
Whatever you and your friends like. You'd be surprised what can work with one person and an acoustic guitar - I have played
Oops! I Did It Again solo on acoustic and got away with it. I have played Gilbert and Sullivan at TJs, solo with just a guitar, and lived to tell the tale ?
On another note: This is a noob question, but after almost a year, I'm still finding it too hard to play on my acoustic. I think it might be the gauge of the strings. I have 10s on my electric and they play like a dream. I don't know what I have on the acoustic, but the 3rd string still has the layer of copper of the thing metallic string. Would that make it 12s or 11s? Would it be an issue if I put 10s on my acoustic.
I really love playing on acoustic guitars, but its just too frustrating on those strings.
Do 11s have a wound 3rd string? 12s usually do, I'm not sure about 11s.
If you put lighter strings on your acoustic then you will almost certainly need the truss rod tweaked a little because there will be less tension on the neck. The tone will change as well with the lighter strings. Wether it changes for the better or the worse is for you to decide.
