Rhapsody of Fire, Triumph or Agony
dirkv
Hey everybody,
Hope is everyone is well. This weekend I took my fiance shopping at Sandton City and while we were there i decided to introduce her to the wonderful world of Symphonic Metal ala Rhapsody of Fire (aka Rhapsody). I landed up buying the Triumph or Agony Cd and i am blown away with it, my fiance however, not so much. She calls it Elf and Tree Music.
This album is incredible and beautifully composed! Luca Turilli is a musicial genius and probably one of the most overlooked metal guitar players in the world!
I have two questions here, Which other Symphonic metal, if any, do you guys listen too and secondly, which of your music does your other half just not get, despite valiant efforts on your part. (And no, i dont mean, tying them up and blasting the music at 11 in the hopes that they will obtain appreciation of the music via osmosis)

Check out the Rhapsody song "Dargor the shadowlord of black mountain extended version", pretty insane.
Also check out the band Symphony X, they rock:
