Lolz! Look at the box though, it really does come with a chord (apart from the cable that is). The chord is an A chord though, I would've been more tempted if it was a C13(#11) or some other chord that I would probably never play if I didn't buy it ?

They're like crack dealers: suck you in with one free chord, get you hooked, and next thing you're selling your mom's prosthetic leg to finance the rest. I suppose the upside is that it gives you a great excuse for GAS: "I need to get a new guitar cause this song has a D and my guitar only has A". Unlike crack though, no-one ever gets to the stage where they really NEED a C13(#11)...

'79 - 81 Fender "Lead I". Dan Smith design IIRC... One of the last CBS era designs.

Actually a hot humbucker at the bridge of a hardtail can do a fair approximation of Tele bridge pup (bridge side coil) or Strat (neck-side coil).
