don't dissmiss this guitar too quickly ...these 'oilcan guitars" which if i recall were manufactured by a company called "afri-can guitars" make a few models with different price levels.... and i have played them , and even marshall music in jhb had a few in stock a years back ... they NOT toys or mockups unless this is just a copy but the pic i saw in the add looks like the ones from the company in question and yes they actually are workable , stay in tune and can sound pretty cool with a very nice mojo about em ...especially if you actually play township jazz ....
and price wise .... i am now thinking back a bit(but the one i saw in a music store also had a 2k price tag or even a hint more but they are not cheap cos they are gimmicky yes BUT they are serious instruments NOT a toy ... meaning it may be priced right ... after haggling he may let it go for less .... so at that price if it's in full working order it's not too bad a deal ....
check out this video which is from the "township guitar" company itself ....

i would propose this is NOT A FAIL ....
btw i have no affiliation with this company ... but support small local guitar companies like this enough not to give em a bad rep
