Although I am not a dedicated fan of Orange amps, I could see that this 1 was unique! Took the pic at Marshall Music in Cape Town. The amp is for sale but not the cab (or was it the other way around? ???)

Anyway, thought you guys might enjoy it! ?

Grahams - his 4 x 12" cab is on the way - the cab MIGHT be for sale.

Yeah, it does look cool.......my point is, if I were gonna buy it, i'd want the head AND the cab!!!

Hahaha brazmonki, can i annoy you now? I used to own that amp .... ? ? ? ? ?

Its an orange OR120, it was made in the early seventies. As its name suggests it an 120 watt valve amp, uses 4 EL84 valves and has no preamp, yes you read right, its only clean .... but in the way it was made its always "cranked" as if the amp has a built in attenuator ... very nice.

The amp has low/high inputs, gain ( volume ), high and low adjustment ( bass and treble ) and this odd frequency adjust thing that scoops mids etc, and then the effects loop. The amp sounds nice as either a guitar or a bass amp as it was made for both as long as you have the right cab in. Its the amp thats not for sale, music connection also has one. They are super rare ...

Reasons why i dont have it anymore :

1. Some moron painted the vinyl black and i grew tired of trying to restore the amp.
2. The head weighs like 30kg
3. It sounds too nice as high volume and i got into too much trouble with neighbours
4. I needed space
