Myspace / My-what-utter-crap

cain

Hi

This is my first week on myspace and this is totally random ..... but what utter crap, its slow, unintuitive, badly designed and just does random nonsense. This this just went and mailed EVERYONE in my gmail contacts, even when it asked and i only chose people that are on the forum etc. Now it sent invitations to linux mailing lists that involve my work stuff.

I can't believe so many people worldwide use this ....

Manfred-Klose

welcome to myspace.

Where's your music player thingy?

AlanRatcliffe

I rarely go there. Pages are too slow/busy, music player is awkward.

FatBoy

Myspace is the kots! Laughable really ?

Spyke

Now you see why Facebook took off the way it did. Simplistic and intuitive. Sadly, even Fb has evolved into a circus.

That said, I still firmly believe it can be one of the best networking tools out at the moment.

We won't even talk about Twitter - American mentality in bucket loads.

What's this myface.com stuff? ?

I can't stand either. I do go on facebook now and then.
Never really even bothered with myspace...

Manfred, it only appears when you upload something ?

Its different than facebook, for bands etc its better than facebook but nee hel i dont like it!

dee

It's not called MySpaz for nothing... ?

DonovanB

I don't mind it. I am going to use it as my online portfolio. with photo's and music samples, videos etc.

It also links me to artists I like, so if they do something like release a new tune I can hear it quickly and easily.

I have another explanation for it, which I shan't mention here in public.

Needless to say, my account has been cancelled, i cant deal with things just logging into my mail cos it has access to gmail cookies oor something ( yes it doesnt need you to type in your password ) and goes and do things ....

Neps

My myspace account is in shambles.. it sux!!!

Went with Facebook, and installed their music player, which somehow functions OK. And getting bands to network takes a bit of time.. not as quick as myspace to network, but facebook is neater, easier, and people who want to join your band page are people who like the music.. not some 'indonesian sheman' who stalks all new profiles.

deanBailey

Myspace is only cool for bands these days. Customizable profiles is like an easy online advertisement.

Some metal bands got famous and big because of sending tons of friend requests everyday. (true story)

But that music player...uuh...low quality compression FTL.
