If you are a guitarist at least one G3 DVD in your collection is a must, all of them are awesome though.

I have live in Denver, highlight of the show is Yngwie's acoustic solo if that is even what that was. Everyone sometime think they are a decent player until you see that solo. He makes you humble again. I need to get my hands on live in Tokyo. Have seen it before, but don't own the DVD. Steve Vai stamping on his wah pedal with The Audiance Is Listening and everything John plays was my fav on that show.

I've only got the Tokyo and Denver DVDs, but I really like them both. The more I listen, the more I appreciate how Joe and Steve particularly try to maintain the melody through the non-solo structures as much as possible, despite pulling off such complex stuff.
That intro to The Audience is Listening is fantastic - Vai really knows how to play the crowd. Vai is always spot-on; Joe wasn't concentrating in Tokyo and is better in the Denver show; I thought Petrucci's set was...clinical, livened up (because he's not much of a "performer") by some stellar drumming from Mr Portnoy (although Vai's drummer, Jeremy Colson, is kickass too); and Yngwie, well, what can you say? For a bit of a one-trick pony (doesn't seem as versatile as Vai or Satriani), that pony certainly has a lot of kick. Dude got skillz. Not so sure about the high kicking, though. I think he might tear a fat.

Thanx mate.........will visit L&L at Cresta asap.......!!!!
Willem186
No problem at all and enjoy malmsteem's guitar slinging, satriani's modes, vai's technique, johnson's tone and petrucci's speed. ?
cain
You can buy them at the bargain section by the dvds, there usually is a music section and they sell for R99 each, i saw G3 denver and tokyo there, yes their not in original covers etc but the dvd is exactly the same just cheaper!
Dirk
Aubs, Also try www.take2.co.za I order all my DVDs from them. They're normally cheaper than most places. Don't know about G3 though

If you can get your hands on it, Bucketheads 13th anniversary DVD is mental, its like 7 hours long!! Worth the purchase price if you own a guitar and like to shred to robot tunes, just kidding, good DVD though!
