Manne guitars

No I'm not talking about what the okes at Corner Bar play. I discovered this Italian manufacturer that has been going since around '86. Unusual woods are the inspiration for some of the range. They even have a special edition made from wine vats ?

Looks good in the pics and the hardware seems great, but does anyone have any experience with the brand?
Their local agent is in Kroonstad AFAICR.

Their authorised distributor in SA based up in the north are a very helpful bunch. I contacted them previously regarding their instruments and dealt with a chap named Andre (very very helpful and knowledgable chap). Unfortunately, for the 7 string Taos with Floyd w/Piezo , the price starts at around EUR 3900...which turned me off. Eventually, i got in touch with Michael Sherman of Sherman customs and he quoted me USD 3700 for the same spec guitar (7 strings, 5 pc birdseye maple+purpleheart+walnut neck, 24 fret ebony fretboard with stainless steel frets and no inlays (only on the side), mahogany tone block with swamp ash wings, we're still discussing about the top, dimarzio air norton 7 and d-sonic 7 pups, three way switching, FR bridge with Fishman piezos, hybrid all access neck joint with a recessed lower horn, neck dims will be the same as the ibby RG7620, body will be shaped very much like the Gambale S, the colour i've gone for is slightly trans purpleburst and matching headstock)
Bottom line, Manne = beautiful guitars, nice people but quite pricey.

Some others worth checking out besides Sherman and Manne...Conklin, Halo, Rash and if touch style playing is really your thing, then Warr guitars.
