What tune in your playlist/radio are you listening to currently? I'm digging Danzig so far.

Hammeron

Re- Machined Tribute to Deep Purples Machine Head.
My, I haven't had this much fun listening to an album in a long time!!
Joe Bonamassa, Steve Vai, Carlos Santana, Glenn Hughes {What pipes, man!} Zakk Wylde, Metallica, Chickenfoot and more.
Two versions of Highway star, two of Smoke on the Water.
One Smoke is by Flaming Lips, like a disco band - and I wonder what Blackmore thinks of this one!!
Great stuff, brilliant!! ?

Jack-Flash-Jr

New Soundgarden album 'King Animal'. Really enjoying it. The singles are not indicative of the album at all and some of the slowburners might not take with me but for the most part, if you like Soundgarden there's some GREAT tunes on there.

Edit: there's a new Deftones out as well which I will check out for sure.

RJN

"Threat Signal - One last Breath" from the Under Reprisal Album . Hands down my Fav Melodic Death metal band.

Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind

A definite on my list of new stuff to listen to.
Didn't know about the Deftones one; will have to check it out to. Diamond Eyes had some good stuff on it; hope this does too.

Ray

Jack White - Blunderbuss. But I cant tell you what it's like. I fell asleep.

Armandearl

Joe Bonamassa-One of these days

Savatage-Fountain of Youth...classic ?

Psean

Deep Six - a Sup-Pop compilation from 1986. It has a bunch of interesting stuff - Green River, The U-Men, and early Soundgarden (listen to the new stuff afterwards and see how much they've progressed) and Skinyard.

ftcl

Bathory - Under The Sign Of The Black Mark

Squonk

Giggsy wrote Also got my hands on the new Muse... first listen a bit disappointing, some interesting solos and Animals does sound a bit like Muse of old. two songs are also sung by the bassist which is different

Also having a listen. Unlike most on the forum I have huge respect for Mat Bellamy...

The first song Supremacy is good stuff. Still quite undecided but not as bad as some reviews

Armandearl

Unchain my heart - Joe Cocker

Psean

Bad Religion - No Control.
Been missing punk.

Bob-Dubery

Geoff Muldaur - Beautiful Isle of Somewhere. I've got a few of his albums, but, for me, this is the best by some distance. He's hardly the world's worst acoustic blues player and he's a great vocalist. Minimalism suits him well.

Also the online preview track from the Richard Thompson album due for release in February. Like I wasn't going to buy it anyway. He's got the strat plugged in and Buddy Miller on rhythm guitar, so I'd say "what's not to like" but I'm not the most objective voice when it comes to El Thommo.

Pineapple and the Monkey by The Faces.

There's some great hammond on this, but also Ron Wood demonstrating what a Stratocaster is for. Why was he never this good with the Stones?

Strange isn't it? He wasn't even the second best player on Black And Blue but he must have done something at some time to get his name on the short list in the first place. So you have him doing a good job with The Faces, and ISTR some good parts from Ron on the early Rod Stewart albums. Maybe the Stones were really determined to not have another virtuoso - but then why audition Harvey Mandel?

This is good! I've just been reading a stones Bio and realised I don't know any of Ronnie's stuff; I've been meaning to check some out.

Andy Timmons has it all, IMO. This is about as good as electric guitar gets, for me: tone, technique, and above all, sheer emotional power.

Psean

Mastodon - Crack the Skye
