What tune in your playlist/radio are you listening to currently? I'm digging Danzig so far.

Uncut's artist of the year ?

giggsy

Frank Turner. All his albums. Just discovered him - he's like a modern day Billy Bragg. Started off as a singer in a punk band now is mainly an acoustic player. YouTube his cover of the Killers Mr Brightside - very good

DaFiz

Mona Lisa (a number by Nat King Cole that I knew so well)
Here performed on an acoustic guitar by an Oz named Tommy Emmanuel.

I love it :yup:

Averatu

Mastodon: The Hunter.
After Crack the Sky I was not really interested in listening to this one. But some guy gave it to me for christmas, even thou I emphatically stated that I dont do consumer holidays! But any way.
The Hunter is a BRILLIANT album. Its like they've told the record company where to shove their requirements, and they're rocking out like only Mastodon can.

Midi, Maxi & Efti.

Look it up ?

Squonk

Andrew James and the Steady Tiger.

South African Guitarist, extremely good stuff

make-and-do

Rolling Stones - Between the Buttons
John Mellencamp - No better than this.
Never been a huge fan of his but I'm really liking this album... T-Bone Burnett magic again.

Supposedly the album was "recorded live to an Ampex 601 tape recorder circa 1955, with a single microphone without mixing or overdubs. This album was cut in some very famous locales: First African Baptist Church in Savannah, GA (the first African American Christian church in North America), Sun Studios in Memphis, and in Room 414 of the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, TX, where Robert Johnson recorded "Stones in My Passway" in 1936. " (Allmusic.com)

I wonder how live it really is though...one mic???

I recently got an old 50/60's record player and I've been buying vinyl like mad the past month...a new addiction :-/
I love the whole romance and warmness of vinyl - and large prominent sleeve art and you can't skip tracks, have to commit to actually listen to an album in proper sequence...good times.

Buttons is awesome...

Mellencamp is a blue collar Springsteen... and that's not a bad thing...

The Unguided - Phoenix Down.

Cellie

Heavily into the instrumental acoustic side of things (actually, I've always been ?).

Found some amazing Japanese acoustic guitarists, such as Masaaki Kishibe:

Listened to some old Who songs this morning. Wow! Pete Townshend wrote some great pop songs: Substitute, Can't Explain, My Generation, A Legal Matter...

This was good when I heard it the first time, Lent this album out in 1979 and never got it back. Wasn't this a 2 album set?
First one was "Wear your love like Heaven", cant remember the second, too lazy to google.

Good stuff singe, going to get me some Donovan...

Squonk

Been listening to June Tabor "Anthology"

her version of of Richard Thompson's "A Strange Affair" is my favourite song of all time for this week at least

The version with Martin Simpson playing guitar? That beats the original hands down.

This is off an early Martin Simpson and June Tabor Album "A Cut Above". Looks like one for the Collection, Also has 'Heather down the Moor" on the album

Suffering from guitar overload!!
Industrial/EBM week for me. Wumpscut, Leather Strip, Skinny Puppy, Covenant. Lots of electronic bleep.

This afternoon Diana Krall. Watching actually. Playing in a trio format - her on piano plus a really great rhythm section. Way cool.
