Been listening to this new Scottish band, We Were Promised Jetpacks, almost solidly for the last week. Maybe not to the taste of may of the people on here, but a great cross between Bloc Party and Glasvegas. They're pretty special this band

A Lou Reed greatest hits album. 2 great songs and 1 good one. The rest is crap. Crappy lyrics, crappy instruments and crappy voice. Did I just buy a bum compilation (only paid 50 bucks for it at Game), or is this dude seriously overrated ?

Listening to Arch Enemy's Rise of the Tyrant, aswell as Meshuggah's album Obzen, and Nevermore's This Godless Endeavour.

Dimension Zero - He who will no bleed. Fast, heavy & melodic - very, very catchy once you get into it.
Obscura - Cosmogenesis. Amazing fretless bass playing (in a progressive extreme metal band?) from the former Pestilence guy. I don't often listen to metal albums for the bass! This album is to blame for the current wave of Warwick GAS I'm experiencing. (Looking at the prices I hope it passes soon lol)
Also a lot of the three J's: Jeff Loomis, John 5 and Jason Becker.

+1 to that bro, Jeff Loomis is awesome, the reason I want a 7-string!!
Just been listening to Crack the Skye, Mastadon FTW!!
BMU
Re Loomis: this scares me, just discovered it today. Our dear Jeff at 16, from his official website.

Andy Mckee - Gates of Gnomeria
What can I say, I LOVE Andy Mckee. IMO, one of the finest melody makers I have heard...
Great Album, the lastest of 3 that I have.

Well I've been listening to Dylan's latest, and I'm not that impressed. Take away Dylan's name and you're left with a competent, well produced but generic bar room blues band.
Jackson Browne's "Running On Empty", not the least marvellous aspect of which is David Lindley's lap steel playing and the sound he gets on this album.
Richard and Danny Thompson's "Industry" - an album of compositions that look at the impact of the industrial age (it's coming and it's going). I find the Danny "half" harder going because it's all instrumental and mostly jazzy, though, as usual, Danny's own playing is a thing of wonder. The Richard half is much easier for me and, I think, has some of his finest songs ("Sweetheart On The Barricade" and the heart-breaking "Last Shift").

Borrowed my buddy's new Daughtry CD. That's my kinda music.
