Not necessarily. The zero fret can be made much higher than the rest of the frets.
Agreed, and that is exactly my point regarding the definition or function of a nut - My confusion was around the exact meaning of the wording of the originally quoted message. Bob and I have (rightly so) sorted this over a pm, since it is most irrelevant to this thread resulting in potential for frustration to others.
