What tune in your playlist/radio are you listening to currently? I'm digging Danzig so far.

Kush

I'm also listening to the entire Paradise Valley album. Have it on repeat. Not a great album but I agree the guitar tone throughout the album is delicious.

Stoffeltoo

Sean Phillips Ballad of Casey Deiss. Simple but hauntingly beautiful

Slayer

Kataklysm - In The Arms Of Devastation

Just can't get enough of it. Simple yet brilliant.

Busy working out a few of the songs - had to tune down to B!

Man, this is what it's all about!

KYUSS! (again, and a lot)

The Sky Valley album at the moment. On of the songs that really got me into them when I first heard their stuff.

Sitting in a hotel room far from home listening to:

Robben Ford & Larry Carlton - Unplugged

Tedeschi Trucks Band - Made up Mind

Foo fighters, well, more specifically Dave Grohl playing his solo acoustic version of Everlong.

I've seen a few Electric Wizard posts around the interweb today. Anything significant about the date or just coincidence?

Just a coincidence. Maybe they are finally taking over!

Wormwood

Alice Cooper - Raped and freezing

Hehe Cool ? Pretty cool stuff. I'm more a fan of the more "stoner" side of that whole thing:

BTW, the electric Wizard track reminded me - If I'm not mistaken, you have a bass fuzz that we need to be updated on :yup:

IceCreamMan

Dream Theatre - As I am..... great song .....

I also love the stoner/psychedelic stuff.

But some days I just want some scull crushing drone/doom.

I will post a update on my Fuzz obsession in the Effects section soon. ?

Laurie Levine - Border Crossing

And I can't stop listening to it.

If you're wondering if local is lekker, wanting to reassure yourself that local can be lekker or just want to listen to something lekker then get this (it's on iTunes - no need to take out a second mortgage). It's a step up from her previous album (Six Winters - and that was pretty good) and Dan Roberts delivers another top notch production. Stylistically it's Southern Americana, and the palette includes gospel in the backing vocals, country and rockabilly in the guitars (Sez Adamson - one of SA's best players), occasional Dixieland in the horns and predominantly on this album a fab soul groove that could have come straight off a Stax record courtesy of the dynamite rhythm section of Justin Badenhorst and Tebogo Sedumedi. Levine's songwriting is strong and she retains her distinct musical identity whilst taking an unexpected musical trip down the highway of Southern soul (Memphis rather than Chicago).

A seriously fab record.

Welcome back Bob ?

I have just "discovered" Jason Isbell, previously part of "Drive-By Truckers", and am enjoying listening to his latest solo offering: "Southeastern".

Good singer/songwriter stuff.
