I'm digging this... Djent mixed with anything is great as long as its done well. Its more interesting than the usual generic djent out there.
I think its great and refreshing to hear djent mixed with other genres. ?

Edit: I'm also enjoying Haley Reinhardt's new CD. :-[ She finished 3rd in last year's American Idol and was hands down my favourite throughout. Her new CD is pretty good imo.

a touch untidy in places,,,,,
I hope it improves,,,
still won't stop me from going to watch the dudes live though :yup:

He also played the acoustic guitar parts on Phil Collins 'Another Day in Paradise" among many other sessions.

Inspired by a recent post by Arjun I have dug out some Steely Dan - Greatest Hits, Katy Lied and Can't Buy A Thrill. The latter is one of my favourite guitar albums and one of my favourite Dan albums. TBH I like the early Dan and after that I find them to be too fixated on glossy perfection, though there are still tracks worth cherry picking.

The Dan always seem to have some top notch guitar fireworks on their albums, not to mention some great rhythm playing once they stopped being a band and started hiring lots of session players.

Some guitar high points (IMO)
Larry Carlton - the justly famous solo on "Kid Charlemagne" and the vibrato hook he provides for "Daddy Don't Live in That New York City No More"
Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (one of my favourite players) on "My Old School", "Change of the Guard" and "Fire In The Hole".
Elliot Randall - "Reelin' in the Years" and "Kings".

Steve Morse - High Tension Wires

One of my favourite albums. Every song is different and the tones he gets, be it nylon acoustic, electric are all superb

Highland Wedding is a masterpiece, the structure and the layers of guitars all building up to the bagpipey bits are sublime

Highly Recommended - If you need an album to introduce you to Steve Morse, this is it!

This is very interesting, they do versions cover versions of rock classic in a Bluegrass / Rock style. "Rockgrass"

On this album Black Dog, War Pigs, Whole lotta love , Running with the Devil etc
