Two albums have been in my car for a couple of days
Genesis - Trick of the Tale , The Album after Peter Gabriel had left, Tony Banks (Keyboardist) really stepped up creatively and this could be the best Genesis album before Phil Collins turned them into a Motown band.
Pink Floyd - Obscured by clouds , Amazing how Gilmour in 1972 had such a good tone already. "Childhoods End", one of my favourite Floyd Tracks

Flashback time for me.
The Incredible String Band - 5000 Spirits or The Layers of the Onion

Eric Skye: Slow Moving Dog
Just got these from Eric who recorded this CD in two sessions the way I enjoy it - Double Bass, Drums and 00-12 Acoustic guitar recorded live in the recording studio. No overdubs, layers etc, just three talented musos jamming together - wonderful stuff!!

Squonk, I have been communicating with Eric for some time as he is a regular on the Acoustic Guitar Forum. I followed his Santa Cruz 00 Skye signature guitar build thread that he shared which was also great.
I am sure the CD's can be ordered from some online stores (I think CDbaby stocks Slow Moving Dog) but I ordered direct from Eric who was a pleasure to deal with. I also bought "For Lulu" which os just solo acoustic and also great which you micht want to check out as well.
The musos on SMD are :
Eric Skye: Acoustic guitar
Brian Casey: Double Base
Bruce Robertson: Drums

Hmmm... Dimmu Borgir - Abrahadabra... frikkin brilliance.
Bob-Dubery
Martin Simpson - Purpose & Grace.
Simpson has one musical foot in the USA and one in Britain. He's familiar & adept with styles from both sides of the pond & mixes them to great & valid effect. EG his rendition of the old Scottish song Barbara Allen. On lap steel.
His slide playing on this album is particularly fab.
Several tracks here have a "bigger" sound than is typical for Simpson, a band sound with electric bass, drums and a bigger than usual cast of players. These include pedal steelist BJ Cole, fab fiddler Jon Boden and a cracker jack harmonica player by the name of Will Pound.

Well it's a slidey kind of time for me right now I guess.
Seasick Steve - I Started Out With Nothin', and I Still Got Most of it Left

Sigh... started the morning in tears as the voices started again...
Carl Orff - Carmina Burana (complete, not just O Fortuna) - makes me cry. The sheer beauty of this thing is so... so... so... wow
Danny Elfman - Serenada Schizophrana (track V - I forget) - frikkin amazing how he made this. If only I could know.... sigh
Mr. Goldsmith - The Omen soundtrack - ooooooooooooooooooooooooh... goosies everytime

There is a little Finnish folk metal project called Wintersun - If you're a metal head GET IT NOW, if you're not - ALSO GET IT! This guy Jari Mäenpää is an extremely good guitarist - the album (called Wintersun) is rated amongst my all time favourites.
