i found a band today, "Grand Funk Railroad" , it sound nogals lekker. its a 70's band.
........they wrote the song "the Loco-motion" ( ......90's kylie minogue anyone ?) , their version sounds good, with fuzz pedals and organs!!!!!! it acutally sounds nothing like kylie's crappy aerobics music.
Fritz, go check out this band, got some blues songs as well.

Freak kitchen, it a very catchy song.....

GRAND FUNK is a wicked cool band! First time I heard them was when my Dad played me some of his GFR records.

You sure they wrote that? I recall an earlier version. I think Little Eva.
Dinosaur-Snr
Soledad Brothers
The Greenhornes
Walter Trout
Eagles of Death Metal
Death From above 1979
Them Crooked Vultures
The Dirtbombs
Pure pleasure ?

Original by Little Eva (as Bob says) (1962) ; Composers: Gerry Goffin and Carole King...Eva was Carole's babysitter ?

I'm listening to Baskery - Fall Among Thieves. This is the crew that Alan posted a video of when I was asking about banjos. A three piece outfit all sisters and on their site they talk about how they played in bars etc. with their Dad. One of them plays the banjo and drums barefoot with her feet, next plays guitar and the third plays upright bass.
Also listening to Tito & Tarantula - Back into the Darkness. I think it's their latest but not that recent anyway - I dont think they do too well. Anyway 'twas some of their tracks on the Desperado soundtrack as well as the From Dusk 'til Dawn soundtrack. And I dont know if anyone likes them becasue I dont hear anyone talking about them but I like the stuff. It's like quite simple with some poison thrown in.
Averatu
Tom Waits - Bone Machine
Dingwall
Sigur Ros !! Blowing me away
When you die I am sure this is the music you will hear in the elevator when you are being transferred to the after life ! If you are good - maybe Bin is currently listening to a Michael Buble & James Blunt playlist.....

Sigur Ros reminds me too much of twin peaks soundtrack meets Jim Neversink or Nick Cave.
BMU
Sigur Ros - interesting stuff for those with the attention span. I have one album called Takk. Reminds me of Cocteau Twins meets BT. But it's too slow for me, usually I don't make it past song 2.
I'm listening to Exivious a lot lately. I guess they're not all that well known - jazz metal in the Cynic vein but instrumental (win!). Arty metal by thinking, highly skilled musicians, worth checking out.
Charlie4
Apart from Miles Davis etc. I'm listening to Funeral for a Friend - Welcome Home Armageddon.
I'd say they're one of the few emo bands worth listening to.
arjunmenon
Thelonius Monk & Coltrane at Carnegie. Great album.
Averatu
Cult of Luna, Swedes do doom.

Well I was driving home this arvey quite happily listening to Elvis Costello. Then that CD came to an end and there was a click whilst the changer changed, and then this most amazing sound started pouring out of the speakers.
Kaleidoscope. I'd forgotten about this set that I got for Christmas, but at least I put one of the discs into the car player.
David Lindley's first band with any kind of profile. From back in the 60s. Amazing stuff. San Francisco goes to Beirut for a holiday and brings some souvenirs back.
giggsy
New albums from The King Blues, The Joy Formidable and The Vaccines and old ones from The Avett Brothers, Fenix TX and Buffalo Tom.

I still remember when they first came out, it was good stuff. One of the first songs I learned was "Bad Company" and shortly after "Feel like making love"
