Sorry I know this may not be everyones cup of tea but this is huge to me
I personally think that this is the correct way to go and put the sport back in the hands of the guys that make the show

To be completely honest I couldn't care less as F1 isn't really my thing, but I feel for you guys who love it. It will most probably not happen as the F1 governing body will rather give in to their demands than lose ALL it'a viewers and thus income.

It's sad, I'm a big fan of the sport, but Mosley is really killing it. He should have resigned a long time ago. Looks to me like he loves being in the public eye and will do the anything to be in the news.

For me it'll be good, now I'll have to watch 2 championships. More viewing pleasure for me.

I agree Govend, it's sad that it has to go this route, but Bernie and Max think they can make and break as they wish. Every year they just get more and more ridiculous.
This will certainly be interesting to see..

Sadly motorsport is the one arena to suffer when things are 'tight'.

I've never been one for the politics of F1 and always preferred WRC. But I lost interest in that too with the withdrawals of certain manufacturers.

The local scene is also feeling it. Drag racing in particular. Circuit seems to be ok for the moment but we saw a big dip with the retraction of teams in the hatch class.

Only formula that still seems to be thriving is the drifting scene.

true times are hard, but in retrospect it is that way since the FOM takes 50% of all revenues
Teams need a bigger chunk of the change, thats fair
keep in mind 1 player Ronaldo was sold for 80 million alone, thats more than the budget cap for an entire f1 team

I am pretty sure that the split will happen and that a fair amount of law suits will follow

I personally used to race both socially and competitavly but have been unable to do so due to lack of funds
I am hoping to get back into some form of the sport in 2010 or 11

I wonder what will happen with the law suits. As far as I know, FIA was in breach of contract of a certain clause, with Ferrari, which made the contract between them null and void

Drifting is the cheapest way to get competitive at the moment. As far as I'm concerned it's the most fun you can have with your pants on too!
