I know it's irrational, but I reckon we should have a thread where you can post links to guitars you want real bad, and guitars you think are just downright sexy. I'll [obviously] go first.... Its not aGibson or Epiphone but still looks good.

Don't. He's just doing that to fix the break angle over the top string ferrules. IMO, that'll be one more point for strings to bind. Would have been better to put the holes closer to the bridge and adjust the shape of the bridge. You can also do creative things by angling the holes and ferrules.

He could have also made a funky rosewood tailpiece.
Either in archtop / violin form; or LP form.

That "extra" bit of rosewood to fix the break angle could just have easily have been made into a tailpiece.
You've given me a fabulous idea I'm going to try out on my "violincaster".

It's where knowing meets hearing; through body gets snappier and you don't hear it if you don't know. You can hear once you know but probably not in a band setting.
This is the thing for me: I think with a full blown band mix, especially live, you only hear good or great without knowing about all the little bits and pieces contributing <0.5% each.

Geez Wizard, that Madrose solid body sure looks awesome. I agree, it would be amazing in kiaat, especially some of the more adventurous pieces of kiaat.

I know I am becoming a bit of a Casimi fan boy, but I thought this guitar certainly deserves a pron mention, even if there aren't many of us here who are more inclined to acoustic guitars.
I spent a few hours with this guitar, and it is the nicest sounding instrument I have played so far in my life.

It's amazing to think that these guys are making some world class acoustic guitars right here on my/our doorstep.

Agree wholeheartedly. Wonderful the way all the carvings work with the shape of the guitar. The matt finish, staining and hardware relicing work together with the whole very well too.

...then the silly buggers go and carve runes into the back of the neck. That makes it a massive fail, changing it from a playable piece of art into "just" art.

+1. That is wonderful and every bit as deserving of being in this thread as any of the other entries.

Agreed. I'd love to go out to their workshop some time. The only thing that worries me is that I'd be strongly tempted by the pretty to get them to make me something. I already have all the guitars I need and have other needs that need filling (repeats to self repeatedly ad nauseum until the urge to spend money not earned yet goes away).

I played my Epi with a cracked neck for a month or so until I found my new guitar...I'd be able to rock this sucker without even noticing... hehehe...

Some fine looking guitars... I looked at the casimi... The course is pricey, but I know it's a lot of work...I'll start with a solid body electric in my garage...hehehe

That's the coolest looking Explorer I've ever seen, very classy imo. Pity about the back neck inlay, you'll probably lose some speed. I can really see the guys of Amon Amarth playing this. 8)

The Casimi's (and Lowdens) of this world definitely need mentioning here, so I'm glad you did Shibobobobobobobbllyylybob.....

Whilst I think the Casimi's are the nicest acoustics I've seen, and would absolutely love to own one, the temptation to have one built is next to zero. They are so far beyond what I can afford/justify on my 'stay-at-home-dad' income (or lack there of) that I can't even entertain the thought! Same with Murray Kuun's designs. I'd absolutely love his Nymph electric as I think its the nicest electric/semi hollow I've ever seen, but even at a modest R22k for it, I cannot even go there! But here's a pic of the Nymph for the Pron thread to keep the juices flowing.....

Well, yes and no.
I remember initially when I looked at it I thought "that's expensive and cheeky! pay all that money and still build the guitar your self".
Then I started to think of it more as an educational course, and I realized that, for 9months worth of 8hour sessions it is a reasonable price really. Even if it were a photography,Photoshop, cooking etc course, that kind of fee could be expected.

I agree it is a whole lot of money. But for the education, experience and ultimately the guitar, I think I got a very very very very good deal...and also a good deal cheaper than getting casimi to build you a guitar (which I could not have afforded)
...and I fully intend to do it again.

Think of the years of trial & error learning saved.
And cost of wrong tools by trial & error.

It's like getting a few lifetimes of experience in a zip file.

I'd love to get those real learnings rather than just hacking around in the dark.

Going for aboot $1400 or a Zillion Zim Dollars. It's similar to the Ibanez Jake Bowen signature model, but a tad lighter on the mortgage.

Most importantly, they have finally put a fanned fret 7 & 8 string out, yet again Ibanez is pulling the big moves and leaving everybody else to catch up in their wake.

Have a look at this and it will make you cry. I'm actually pretty speechless. Ibanez has come a LONG way. They always made great playing guitars but it seems they have really stepped up big time, as in PRS territory.
