Its difficult to decide between the two... I also dig the darker purple one's colour but prefer the exaggerated flame on the lighter one... Modern RG's are not available with set-necks. Only bolt-on or neck-through. J-customs are heavy guitars unlike other RG's and Jems. Solid mahogany bodies with flamed maple tops, headstocks and fretboard binding. The J-customs in the pics have bolt-on necks. They are the darkest sounding RG's I've ever heard. If you can imagine crossing a Jem's tone with that of a dark sounding Les Paul you get more or less the j-custom's tone. Neck-through j-custom RG's have a slightly brighter tone and a price tag of R50k - R60k+ ...if you're lucky enough to find them... Too much $$ for me especially 'cause I prefer the bolt-on version's tone.

Lately the guitars that have been keeping me up at night are the Strandbergs, they're ergonomically designed and are apparently super comfy to play. The latest creation Ola Strandberg has made is below, it is called #8 and was made for Tosin Abasi from Animals As Leaders. The specs are 8-string neck through body construction - Baritone hybrid scale 28.75" – 25.5" mixed scale - Rosewood / maple / carbon fiber neck - Intersecting Plane Neck Profile (tm) Licensed from Rick Toone - Swamp ash chambered body with flamed maple top and f-hole - Rosewood fingerboard - Stainless steel frets - Custom Lace Alumitone pickups.

Apart from the funky light feature of the Ghostmaster I really like the shape (sort of half SG, half LP) and the slotted headstock. Are those frets curved?

I've got a piece of wood lying around crying to be turned into a guitar. I think I have now found my shape...

wow that paisley tele is beautifull just look at the maple figuring on the back of the neck.......... now thats stunning to me......and the orange paisley is so much better looking than the usual blue or pink .......i love this look ....
