aja Here is a large database of used gear and its market price: http://www.prepal.com/welcome.htm I thought it is pretty handy. Not sure how accurate it is though.
Gearhead Checked some items I bought: some of them were not even on, some were close and some were more than 30% off (both ways). I guess there's a big difference in where the item is bought/sold. Since the site mainly uses E-bay the prices will be based on US market. Since the SA market is and has been different in both its volumes and availability, this will differ.
AlanRatcliffe I just check the items sold listing on EBay and try take into account that there is not as much of a market locally.
