New Jack Plate

Hi All

Seeing that everyone suddenly wants to drill hole in thir guitars....here's one.

The jack socket on my wife's AFS is a rather dumb set up. The thing keeps coming loose and the jack socket then falls inside the body..... >☹ >☹

I was thinking of installing a chrome jack plate to replace the current set up....ala Gibson style.

Can these plates be obtained locally of will I have to import one.

I might look different or modern, but the the cable wont go out accidentaly!!!

I thought about the Neutrik option but I think it will look a little cheesy on a guitar that has such a classic look.

I will follow up on the Terry distributors thing though......Thanks.

...or you could just fit a lock washer on the inside of the guitar. Sockets tend to work loose even from jack plates without them and many manufacturers do not bother using them.

And Neutriks look cool on anything. ?

The socket does not have a lock washer and the wood is too thick to add one without running out of thread on the nut side....hence the option of the jack plate....thinner material to be able to add the appropriate lock washer etc...

Popped into Music Connection this morning and got a Gibson jack plate.

All replaced and looking good......

Only had a gold one but it matches the knobs nicely.
