Well, the Duncan Forum is a very nice one with great people.
Any ways, my metal head cousin is also looking into one, as we needs a (((loud))) metal amp. He is in a metal band, and needs a realiable head. I spose he is looking into the 4X12 aswell.
The one amp that i would recommend is the all new Peavey 6505 combo.
Hell, it is even cheaper than a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 1X12, and those amps does not cost an arm and a leg.
...and if you connect the 6505 to a 4X12 cab, you have an allmighty 5X12, like this bloke did :
NOT a 6505, but you get the idea !
With all this said and done, it still depends what tipe of tone you want for YOUR metal sound.
If you do not like the average 5150 tone, then you will not like the 5605.
IF on the other hand you like the Line6 tone, and you know the amp will out last someyhing else in the same price range, by all means, that amp is probably just what you need/want.
Me, on the other hand, i like the Matamp GT1 / Electric Amp USA MVU tipe tone for my type of metal.
Not cheap amps by any means, and sadly, i have
never heard anyother brand of amps that can even come remotely close to either ☹
