My very first "proper" recording

I worked most of yesterday on recording an "intro" or "verse" or "outro" of a song. Basically just a riff that I thought sounded pretty ok. It is shocking to find how bad your timing is when you normally just play by yourself. I'm definitely getting a metronome.

It's really hard sharing your playing with others for the first time. I'm going to share it is soon as the website I'm uploading to starts working.

I have two variants of this piece.

The first one Demo 2.mp3 is the first "proper one after I got the timing right. I don't like it really as it sounds to "busy" and I don't feel the guitars mix all that well together.

The second one Eerste mieks.mp3 I like. Used my tremolo a lot more and created some cheap effects which I thought sound pretty good (I have the musical ear of a rock, by the way).

Please comment on what you hear and criticise in a positive manner. I have no idea what genre it will fall into, any ideas? Thank you.

It definately has a Slayer type ring to it! 8)

It's a promising start, maybe incorporate some percussion and a few more riffs and it'll be sweet.

There seems to be a bit of clipping going on at abt 9 - 14 sec. Maybe reduce the gain/overdrive a touch or the level of the guitar ?
