I never rate GAS as a bad thing, but sometimes it just stinks... ( ok thats the last pun I promise)
The Ibanez classical I bought has developed a hum when plugged in. I originally figured it was because I wasn't using a DI box, but after replacing the battery with a Duracell 9v (i find they last long enough) and discovering it flat within a week I was disappointed.
The manual says that when the guitar is not plugged in the circuit is off, meaning my battery should be fine. This thing obviously has an earth problem or a short somewhere.
Now I have to take it back on the weekend... :'(

If you're feeling brave, remove the endpin jack socket and make sure that the medium length lug on the back is not touching the metal sleeve of the barrel or the long earth lug connected to it. Also make sure that the socket hasn't rotated in the hole, as this often twists the wires which squeeze all the lugs together.

I will check that, I did look to see the wires were properly connected but didn't check for anything touching. That could cause the circuit to close and chow my battery.
I despise returning anything. I had to do it way to manytimes with my car...
