Marc makes incredible acoustics. He is really one of the finest on the planet. If you don't need all the decal and inlays you could get away with R60k easily.
The steel string OOO and Lucas York Models base price at the moment are R35k-R40k respectively, that includes bevels, German Spruce tops, the works.
So R60k might be over shooting a bit. Ask him, He takes a few weeks to reply. But always good to know what you working towards ?
Just a little encouragement, ? If I could, I would only own Maingards ? ? ? Even nicer than my Larrivee OM10 and that says something.
yes Brent in reality i have not found a nylon before this one that absolutely blows me away..... there's ussually a flaw... either neck too thin too fat...or the bass is too tight and the treble too shrill.... but this marc maingard was as perfect a guitar as i have ever held.... and believe me i am a harsh critic and look for the flaws....
and as for owning one...afraid unless i find a rich lover or win the jackpot or get signed to a major label.... that the price is out of my price range.... i am an artsit and nothing else....with no trust funds...so R60 000 even R40 000 on a guitar is a luxury i can't afford......
like i been saying a lot on this forum my current guitar sounds awesome.... and not like i have an instrument that hampers my playing in any way .... actually someone actually heard it last night and thought it was also a custom luthier build...hhheheheh you shoulda seen his face when i said it was a Yamaha CGX .... anyway it is a beautiful guitar ......
so as much as i admire the maingard ...i definitly do not have the budget to even consider contacting him ect.... unless he discounts it to R20 000 heheheh yeah right in my dreams
