It finally happened. Last night I had to do some really delicate work, and all of a sudden I realised: I can't focus as close as I used to. I borrowed someone's reading spectacles and voila! Problem solved.

So now I'm off to the optometrist to get my eyes tested. I'll probably have to get reading glasses - and all the while I was blaming the low energy lightbulbs we're using in the house now... And that after having 20/20 vision for the past 20 years or so. ☹

So, to all you younger guys: It creeps up on you like a thief. One moment you're on top of the world and before you know it, 20 years have passed and you still remember it like yesterday!

Ah well, I've seen David Gilmour squinting at his pedalboard with glasses on the tip of his nose when he adjusted something, so at least we have that in common! ?

Because of my line of work, I'm front of a PC for about 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Recently I have also gone to get my eyes tested, and ended up with a pair of anti-reflective glasses to reduce the tension on my eyes. It made a world of difference! No more funny headaches!

Ja ouboet. It happened to me a few years ago. I avoided getting the four-eyes as long as I possible but it couldn't carry on. Still not quite used to it. For instance, you take a sip of your coffee and you can check nothing! Then I panic until I remember I'm wearing specs. Hey, but I'm still popular with the chics.
