Same here for electric. But I sit - not cross legged - when playing acoustic - none of my acoustics have straps!

most recently I sit with my legs crossed..... although i did use a strap previously while seated.... but that was cos i needed both feet for my percussion now i have devised a way to raise the one percussion instrument i tap with my foot to allow me to cross my legs and i'm much more comfortable like that ..... (the video's i have posted all have me using the strap while seated)

and by the way all the mucho male Flamenco players sit with legs crossed but not in the feminine way ...the way where the right leg is parralel to the floor .... and it gives them the perfect playing position on a nylon string ....and no straps are used

I didn't vote because I use all of those very frequently. It depends on what mood I'm in. When I'm in the studio I might be sitting or standing in a position that helps me to play accurately and effortlessly. When I'm gigging I usually stand with my guitar slung pretty low, but not too low for comfortable playing (it seems to be getting a little higher these days - maybe I'm not as cool anymore... ?). When I'm just chilling I might just do whatever.

What really works for me is to adjust my strap to my most comfortable sitting position so that my guitar is in exactly the same position whether I'm sitting or standing. I teach a lot so that means I spend hours sitting with my Strat which can cause a pain in the leg so I wear a strap while I'm sitting so that I can distribute the weight evenly between my leg where the guitar rests and my shoulder (I also don't enjoy having the full weight of my guitar on my shoulder for hours on end)

I usually sit, cross-legged, (I know, I know) but it's uncomfortable for me to sit normally cause I have really long legs. Anyway I first learn a song/riff sitting then I learn it standing with the guitar at mid-position, then I practice it really low. But not at the knees

I'm one of those 'I-sit-like-a-girl' players.. But it depends on my mood.. When standing the guitar is quite low slung.. which is bad for intricate songs.. But it looks cool ? Acoustic will be quite high.. Tried having the electric quite high, but I hated the 'feel' of it.

As for studio, I always sit..

Me too! Often in front of my PC reading tabs off Guitar Pro or the Internet. But when it comes to band practice, standing is the best position.
