2. Hawk. (I don't think too many will know or remember them from the 70's........ Squonk??).
Strange thay you should mention them. I lived next door (In Florida) to the bass player from Hawk (Name completely escapes me). They played a Florida Town Hall gig, which I was far to young to attend. I listened to rehearsels and can remember " Here comes the sun" which was pretty funky, Unfortunately never bought any Albums.
Bass Player.......Les Goode....brilliant bassist.
Drummer.........Braam Malherbe.....awesome drummer!!!
Dave Ornallas....Vocals.......
Mark Kahn......guitar...
Julian Laxton played with them before they left for the UK.
Keith Hutchinson......keyboards and saxophone..... brilliant. (He went on to play with Johnny Clegg, Savuka).
We played Glamis Stadium, Salisbury, (Harare) with them, early 70s.
I actually bumped into Keith Hutchinson at Tuerk Music, Randburg, about a month ago, ........and chatted about "those days".
