Same here...and I still have mine, unused ever since I got GR3.

I'm actually thinking of simply donating it to someone instead of selling it. Maybe I'll sponsor the prize for the next weekly competition... ?

Strangest I ever bought was a Shin-ei Fuzz/Wah (with the manual of legend: "When sound, she become small, replace battery"). Not too wierd as these things go, but really bad.

Mostly I liked abusing effects to get them to misbehave and find the sounds that they weren't designed to create. My pitch shifter (Boss RPS-10) would do some real weird stuff if you changed the pitch range while you were playing (a trick I picked up from Adrian Belew) - it would glitch out a random sequence of notes, skipping octaves randomly as it tried to figure out what it should be doing. Undervolting various pedals could get you some fun, unpredictable craziness too (doesn't work with the newer digital stuff though).

I built a fuzz box once that had three Fuzz Face circuits in series. Had to replace the third one repeatedly because it would blow up from me diming all the controls on the first two (I love the smell of silicon in the morning). That and a Flanger created the tone my bandmates nicknamed "the icepick in the forehead".

But most of my weird stuff came from a rather silly pedalboard - I had five overdrive/distortion pedals, two EQs, two phasers, a pitch shifter, an octaver, a six output buffer, a flanger, a T-Wah, six delays and a mixer. I liked splitting the guitar sound into multiple parallel chains and EQing, delaying, distorting, pitch shifting each path differently (still do). Admittedly I never gigged with it as I would have had to repatch between songs, so live was a simple overdrive, wah, phaser and delay. This was long before noise gates - so I even had one song where I didn't play the guitar - I just manipulated the system noise (Fripp/Eno fan - can you tell?). I think my patch cords were worth more than my guitar. Happy days.

+1 All the pedals i built didnt' sound like the description mentioned on the website.. ? haha... Made some fun sounding stuff though.. Turned my guitar into all sorts of weird sounding things! ?

My new Digitech Whammy, this pedal is SUPER WACK ? its a challenge to use it tastefully but you can get alot of cool experimental sounds especially when layering other effects over it. ITs my creative toy ?

Yip i got the Digitech whammy 4 aswell, i would love to figure the midi side (never jumped into midi) apparently then you can control all the sounds from there as very often i would love to use 2 of the effects in 1 song which is not possible live to bend over to turn a knob LOL ?

do you place the distortion before or after the whammy? or are you using the amps distortion..

Ah another Whammy user.

For me, it is Whammy very first in the chain, everry thing else comes after it !
I used pedals and amp dirt, depending on the amp i use at the time.
I am thinking of puting the Whammy in a loop to isolate it from the chain, as when it is not in use, as it affects my tone.

NEVER looked into the whole midi thing ( as i want to keep my chain as "analog as possible", where possible)

I have had my whammy for about 1 month, been tossing between the distortion before and after it, not 100% sold on which position is beter. Yeh a loop would be great.. cause lets be honest that thing SUCKS tone, i mostly use it for MUSE type of stuff so not too bothered on tone as its so clouded by many effects. i wouldnt mind looking into loops tho, guess i would first need a line selector tho...
