"Two particles" are Dax Butler and Richard Bruyns from the band "Them Particles".

A good evening as it turned out.

Little Black Hats turned out to be Mike "Chappie" Sadie and his violin player Waldo. They did a powerful set - mostly instrumentals.

"Two Particles" turned out to be four particles in the end (IE 80% of the band) as their bass player, Joel, and drummer also performed - the latter playing djembe. They had a great sound, with Richard Bruyn's lap steel, the main solo voice, cutting through beautifully (he plugged his National into a Baggs Gig-pro pre-amp and then ran a line from the Baggs into the desk). They got two encores. Good songs, all composed by Dax. Dax is a pretty good player, and whilst I appreciated his attitude of playing for the song and for the band, and his generosity in letting Richard take all the solos (including a long workout on their 3rd song) I was kind of hoping he'd get some licks in himself.
