Possible to play Ipod through Peavey Classic 30 and jam along?

I don't have my Classic 30 with me to try it. Is it possible? I'd like to play a back track through it and play along? Possible?

I don't know whether the Classic 30 have an auxiliary input, but if you have an auxiliary input I would think so. I have used my Roland Cube as a computer speaker many a times and it worked fine, with my Randall it sounds a bit unclear and dark though.

If it has a send and return, yes.

Whoops! Just remembered - you need to mix the output from the send with the incoming signal, because plugging in to the return jack cuts out the preamp. You can have it easily modded to not cut the signal though.

One more thought: - Mono sum the left and right through two 200ohm resistors at the 1/4" mono jack side. This will help prevent the preamp output impedance from loading the output of the I-Pod. Kind of like a resistive fixed mixer.

Hmmmm... I'm not sure my amp has any of those, all its got is input, headphones, footswitch in the front and line out, external speaker and footswitch (reverb) at the back...

Would it work by plugging it into any of those jacks?

There is a way if you have an audio mixer.

Mix the guitar and I-Pod through the mixer first and then send it to the amp. Not the best in terms of tone etc, but for fun and jamming to a track it will work.

Mixer output levels will need to be low so as not to overload the amp i/p. Wont be able to use your amp distortion either.

what you could do is get a small mixer , and line out your amp to the mixer and listen to the out come with headphones or home theatre system if you feel like it
