Not just a tech Manny. I've had the pleasure of playing a FVDM custom acoustic (serial number 0001) and it really knocked my block off.
Lovely, lovely guitar. A custom build would set you back 30k and approx. turn-around (based on my last conversation with him) is 9 months.
He currently does a dreadnought. He might be venturing into acoustics with cutaways shortly.

I've dealt with Foster plenty over the years and he's worked on just about every guitar I've ever owned.
He does a fantastic job of setting up guitars (intonation etc). I recommend his work any time.
That guitar he builds is a beauty. ?

For your prized possession I'd still recommend Foster vd Merwe. He does a fantastic job.

I took on a Cort the other day and did the job myself... 2 mm lower bridge plus one full turn on the truss rod, a new set of d'Addarios and some polish and tune up, and return to one happy owner.
I noticed rust on the frets... do they use steel instead of brass...? or did the old strings cause the rust? ???

German silver (AKA: nickel silver) - same stuff everybody uses. It does tarnish if left for a long time without playing, but it's not rust as such.
