What about it don't you get? The lever/cam/flip/hook mechanism for each string allows the freaky guitarist to preset 3 tunings independently and call them up. One can for instance give the lower E a second tuning in D# and a third in D. If you do that smartly on all strings, you can get several attractive tunings in a couple of clicks, for instance open E, open G and open A (or whatever is to your liking).
If I ever get around to making a dedicated slide guitar, the Trilogy will be on (though not the Tele variant).

Yeah. It lets you change tunings on the fly between three different presets ...on each string. ?
You might also like the Steinberger TransTrem, which also lets you whammy and the whammied notes stay in tune with each other (Alan hears distant sounds of hundreds of guitarists frantically Googling).
