Winter makes for some great barre chord practicing.
Here is my method that took years to perfect:
- 1 - place hand on guitar in desired barre chord position
- 2 - maintain hand position and hold hand out of open window for one minute
- 3 - place your now frozen hand on fretboard and slide up and down with ease - you will keep the same chord shape
Using this sophisticated technique, you can maintain rigidity and accuracy in your fingers for extended playing, even for days on end, depending on the outside to inside temperature ratio.
Note: If you find loose fingertips lodged between the strings after play you might have overdone the exposing of your hand to the cold winter air. Also might I suggest some warm water in order to change to a new chord shape.
