Banditman Can anyone recommend a supplier / brand for decent tools - like soldering irons and spares for example? Trying to get decent stuff here in East London (from local suppliers) is more headache than pleasure.

Gearhead Still very happy with my Magnum (made in SA) soldering station - a temperature controlled station almost at the price of a fixed power Weller iron! If you're going the internet order route, try www.rssouthafrica.com - prices are steep but whether you pay R1 or R2 for a resistor matters less than the availability of it all (to me, at least).
