Hi Guys,
Has anyone fitted a Fender Mid Boost kit in their strat? I'm wondering whether the routing out and fitting is a mission, and whether there are any options to routing out the wood.
And what about every time you need to change the battery? All the strings need to come off at the same time, and you need to open up the scratch plate. Will this be bad for the guitar?
For those that have done this mod, do you think it was worth doing?
Thanks
Tony
Strangely enough I've never fitted one, but I can tell you who has - Vintage Vibe (on this forum). He recently did the whole Vintage Noiseless Mid-boost and TBX thing. I'm not sure if he's online at the mo, he had probs with his 3G, but you can get him at Marshall Cape Town, ask for Gareth.
      Thanks Alan, I'll contact Gareth

Last night I was playing with a simple DI that has a Mid feq boost feature and I must say it gives you guitar a new voice ..I like it ... and I like it a lot.

I am sure it not as refined as the fender kit.......but it give you options without going FX.

I added a Boss EQ pedal to my signal chain for the same reason. You can tweak the freq as u like, and its got a master slider on the far right - which means u can boost the whole signal. Works for me. Now my tone cuts through the mix much better.
